Week 4 Project 1 Negative emotions are part of the human experience. If you can’t manage these feelings, minor inconveniences can stick with you all day and ruin your mood. Our device is like a time-out clock. When you feel negative emotions, you press a button to give yourself a set amount of time to process it. The light goes on for, say, five minutes. When time is up, the light will start blinking until you attend to it and turn it off. The blinking allows one to ask themselves, am I still angry? If the negative emotions have passed, we can turn off the lights with the red button. If we are still feeling negative emotions, we need to reflect on why the feelings have an impact on us for so long. Then we can use the knob to increase the duration (second reminder). Here’s the code My attempt to amplify the light so the two small LEDs filled up the box better. The box is lined with reflective plastic and two mirrors were angled in such a way that dispersed the most amount of light, though still didn’t diffuse the light how I wanted it. First, we only had the reflective plastic, which probably had some effect, but it was nothing compared to the actual mirrors. Working hard to diagnose our technical difficultiesThe LEDs weren’t functioning after we changed all the long wires to wires we cut to length- turns out the positive and negative sides were flipped. Here’s the finished product and its functionality.
